Do volunteers really make an impact in communities? What lessons learned and best practices do volunteer coordinators have to share? What are the benefits and challenges of working with international volunteers?
If you’re up to discussing these questions and more, join Idealistas.org on December 4 to honor International Volunteer Day!
“Ser Voluntario: Mil formas posibles” is a free mini-conference dedicated to all things volunteering. This year we’re doing it a bit different. Instead of listening to preselected speakers, participants will have the opportunity to listen to each other.
Here’s how it will work: recognized experts, volunteer coordinators, representatives from organizations, current and former volunteers, and more will have the opportunity to present a topic of their choice. (Think Unconference or Open Space.) Everyone “nays” or “yays” the topics presented. Once there is a list of discussion themes, the group splits off and chats away. In the spirit of keeping this jornada dynamic and interactive, we’re also inviting everyone to bring any materials they’d like to hand out and/or present.
Of course we’d love to see you there. But if you can’t make it and still want to participate, you can always follow online. To learn more and RSVP, go to: www.idealistas.org/evento
